We just finished up a fun project and I'm excited to share before & after photos with you!

This table and chair set was listed under our 'Available for Reservation' tab on our website until recently when a very nice family decided to reserve it.

They requested we paint it black and lightly distress. Such a great choice!  I love the shape of this set, especially the chair backs.  

I love how it turned out.  Talk about a dramatic transformation!

Dresser :: Donation, Betty Brinn Children's Museum Annual Gala

One of my clients came to me a few months back asking if Leisure Living would be interested in donating a piece of furniture to a great cause. She's a co-chair on the Betty Brinn Children's Museum Annual Gala auction committee.  The Gala is a Fall annual event that helps raise money for the Museum's hands-on educational activities that benefit both children and adults alike. You can read more about the event here.

I'm delighted to say we found a special piece to donate to this great event.  This year's Gala has a Paris theme, so what better color to paint with than Annie Sloan's french-inspired Versailles.

Two Toned Coffee Table

Here are a few pictures of a coffee table we recently refinished. 

The original wood top was pretty dated - it needed to be sanded down, re-stained and sealed. We went with a mahogany color.  The legs were painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Old White. 

It was a pretty easy makeover but the results were dramatic. I love the two-toned look!

Custom Dresser Set

I had the pleasure of working with a new client on a custom dresser set. This set was extra special as it used to be my clients when she was a little girl.  She wanted both pieces updated so her little girl can now use them.  I love when furniture can remain in a family and be past down for generations!

We decided on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - Old White, lightly distressed.  We also decided to keep the original hardware.

The white paint really makes the dresser details pop.

I have a feeling these dressers will be enjoyed for years to come!

Farmhouse Corner Cabinet

I absolutely love how this piece turned out. One of my personal favorites. 

A few weeks ago I found this cabinet at a thrift shop. It was in pretty rough shape - they type of rough shape that keeps you shopping- passing up a purchase. However, I just had an instant vision for it. Corner cabinets can be hard to find and this one had a vintage farmhouse feel. I guess my vision was strong enough because it lured me back to the store the next day. And I'm thankful it was still there!  SOLD.

After some repairs and a thorough cleaning - I painted the exterior in ASCP Pure White and painted the interior a beautiful Tiffany blue color.

It is such a beautiful display cabinet with vintage charm.  A statement piece with lots of storage!
I'm happy to report it already found a great home.
