Some friends of ours just recently built a {gorgeous} new house. With a new house of course comes new decorating ideas. They had a desk that's been in their family for quite some time {it was his grandfather's} and asked us if we could refinish it for them. I absolutely love working on pieces that have history and meaning. There's nothing more rewarding then reviving an older piece of furniture that has a special place in someones heart.
Here's how the desk originally looked:
We decided to sand down and re-stain the top, paint the body of the desk old white and swap out the hardware. Even though it looks like a brand new desk ... the history of it will not be forgotten.

It turned out beautiful - I love wood and paint together - great job!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I would buy it if it didn't already belong to someone else. On the hunt now for it's twin :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful update - love the hardware too!
ReplyDeleteLove this!! I think it's amazing how different it looks as well. The hardware really changes the feel!!
ReplyDeleteI think this one looked better in the original color.
